25 Blog Article Ideas for Pet Groomers

You know a blog helps your pet grooming business. Your blog is a way for your customers to stay connected with you. Blog posts demonstrate your expertise and experience. A blog builds trust with future customers. Blogs are a great asset to help grow your business.

Overcoming the Blank Blogging Screen
But what happens when it’s time to write on your blog, and you are staring at a blank screen? You find yourself saying, “This isn’t my job! I have pet clients to take care of today.” Or “This is my home time with my family. Why am I staring at a computer screen?”

My goal is to help you beat that blank screen, so you can have a great blog and more time to do what you want to do.

Simplest Ways to Blog for Your Pet Grooming Business
One of the simplest ways to write a blog post for your pet grooming business is to provide a numbered list, like what follows in the second half of this post. For example, “25 Ways to _____” or “Top 10 Questions about _____” or “5 Seasonal Tips for _____.”

Not only is it simple for you to write a list, based on your pet grooming expertise. Lists are also easy for people to read, learn from, and remember. If you write a good list post, also known as a listicle, people will bookmark it and refer back to the article and to your business.

Another good way to blog about pet grooming is to tell a story, based on a real or hypothetical experience. People love stories. A story paints a memorable picture. When you share a story about pets, you will also gain the trust of people who visit your website. Your story will show you have a genuine love of pets and a deep understanding of how to care for them. (Of course, remember to keep the identifying details of real situations confidential, unless the story is about your own pet or you have the pet parent’s permission.)

25 Blog Topics for Your Pet Grooming Business
If you own a pet grooming business, here are 25 blog topics you can write about, so you won’t have to dread the blank screen.

I have listed many of these topics in question form, so your answers can become your blog posts. As you read these questions, you’ll already be saying the answers out loud. Write them down or speak into a recorder and transcribe it.

If you blog twice a month, these topics will keep you going for a year. If you blog more often, you can break each numbered item into smaller bits or focus on different breeds. As you go through these topics, I am sure you will think of more.

(1) How does your grooming service care for elderly pets?

(2) What are some home grooming tips your clients can practice in between visits?

(3) How can pet parents handle mats and tangles? When should they come to see you?

(4) What are your add-on services clients might not be aware of?

(5) What breed specialty tips and specific breed grooming needs can you share? (If you can write profiles on several different breeds, that gives you more than one blog post for this topic. It also helps you connect with more potential customers. People love reading and learning about their favorite breed.)

(6) Talk about the first visit to the groomer and why pet parents (especially first-time pet parents) shouldn’t worry. If you want to get even more creative, tell the story from the perspective of a pet visiting for the first time.

(7) What are some common cautions and dangers of home grooming (dogs, cats)?

(8) Are you a small shop, large shop, mobile, part of a veterinary practice, kennel, designated grooming service, part of a larger pet service company/store, etc.? Whichever one you are, write about the advantages of your type of grooming business.

(9) What are some common myths about pet grooming (dogs, cats), and what is the reality?
